The adult GREAT WHITE EGRET has returned to
the Ouse Valley, commuting between the four pits at Gayhurst but mainly
favouring the far eastern end of the main shallow pit to the right of the
footpath (present for its second day - Rob Norris); also 72 Mute Swans there and
2 broods of Great Crested Grebe.
Meanwhile, MANOR FARM WORKINGS continue to
pay dividends - Rob Hill discovering an adult PECTORAL SANDPIPER there last
night. The bird was still present this morning, showing well at the east end of
the complex, along with the adult male RUFF, 4 Green Sandpipers, 3 Common
Sandpipers, a juvenile Little Ringed Plover, Dunlin, 60 Lapwing, a juvenile
MEDITERRANEAN GULL, a juvenile Common Gull, 7 Little Egret, 3 GARGANEY, 11 Teal,
8 Common Swift and numerous House Martin.
WILLEN LAKE NORTH BASIN held 3 Green
Sandpipers, a Common Sandpiper, 8 Gadwall, 3 Great Crested Grebe broods and 1
Mute Swan, with the SOUTH BASIN adding a further 118 Mute Swans.
